An hour after Ossidia's announcement, the four groups are dispatched to the four sources of the magic cast upon the city of Goldvale. Watch out—the levels of magic here are so intense that there's no telling what might happen next. When the groups arrive at these sources, they'll be met with a surprise. As these sources the cause of the apparitions appearing around town, their magic manages to reach a bit further where it's most concentrated. In each group, one character will be randomly chosen to have an apparition representing a memory appear to stop the group from destroying it. These are complex illusions based on that random character's most traumatic memory and will affect everyone in the group. For example, if a character's most traumatic memory was failing to prevent the death of his wife, the source will recreate where it took place and represent itself as the wife.

Subthreads and descriptions of each location can be found below. Those who have been chosen must describe their character's memories so that everyone can participate.

[He nods to her and after casting First Aid to help her heal a little, he turns to look at Nic's direction, giving him a nod as well.

When the lightning strike the stranger dead on, he wasted no time and rushed forward to land as many strikes as he can on him. It was then that he noticed the glowing grandfather clock.

Getting an idea, he told Nic while he continued to attack.]

Nic, get the clock. Hurry!

[The tension in Korra's face eases slightly with Tieria's spell. She'll have to calm her nerves herself, but in the meantime, that's a relief from the brutal physicality of being bloodbent.

Korra is silent as she keeps up the spell, daring to peek out from behind the boxes. It's working. There's a flare of rage when she catches sight of him, her grip tightening on the edge of the crate. He shouldn't be here. He shouldn't be able to do this. Korra growls, the bolts growing stronger the more she watches him.

At this rate, she's going to drain all of her vikrafte, but she can't bring herself to care.]

[dogtag]

[ it's the right move, and at the right time. nic still has his sword drawn, and he moves forward to smash the grandfather clock. the wood of it groans under stress, and nic hits it again and again until it starts breaking apart.

he's going to need to resharpen his sword after this. but if they can't finish this mission, he'll have more to worry about than his blade.

the grandfather clock is coming apart into pieces, and the room that they're in starts to change, as if wavering between two locations. ]

[He brought the shield up to smash it against the still paralyzed stranger just in time as Nic broke the clock. Just then, like their surrounding, the stranger begins to morph between the two locations. Jumping back to cover, he signals for Nic to move as well.] Get back!

[Having no idea what's happening, he rushed to the girl who must exhausted after unleashing so much magic.] You alright?

[Still, he has a bad feeling about being in a space that's warping between one another. Being trapped in between space is not the way he wants to finish his mission.] We need to get out of here. Search for the actual door!

[He looks around, hurriedly searching for the door between the warping space.]

Come on...

[Korra's got enough juice for one last big hit, but her vikrafte's starting to get dangerously low. Efficiency has never been her strong point, especially now that she's limited on how much she can attack with. How stupid is that?!]

I'm fine- try heading out the door... the door behind him. [She speaks through panted breaths, having exhausted herself.] Either that... Or we gotta destroy the clock. It's the source. All this wavering magic energy's coming from there.

[dogtag]

[ he doesn't know what they're saying, for the most part. they're talking too quickly and he's more occupied with the clock, anyway, but he gets the overall message.

it's also pretty obvious that the clock is the source, especially after the girl notes where the energy is coming from. he lands another smash on the wood before calling at her. ]

Hit it. It's stronger than normal.

[ otherwise, it probably would have been broken by now. they still need to work together to finish it off and break the illusion. ]

[Accessing the situation, he deduces with Korra's lack of vikrafte, she won't be able to hit the clock, much less do any damage. Casting another First Aid so she wouldn't collapse, he makes sure she's standing with proper support and turns his attention back to their situation.]

Stay here and keep an eye on him. If he starts moving, stun him. I'll help Nic.

[With that, he dashed forward to join Nic, stabbing the grandfather clock alongside his partner. Their combined effort worked and after several successful hit, he bashed it hard with his shield, hoping to finally destroy it.]

[rebonding]

You got it.

[That First Aide thing is pretty awesome... Korra can still feel that her vikrafte's been significantly drained, but health-wise, she's nowhere near as woozy.

Just as Amon is beginning to stir and Korra is preparing for another attack, the room begins to shift again.]

I think it's working!

[And Amon is fading with the rest of the storage room... So if he's a part of all of this, what's going on?]

[ the entire situation confuses him, but at least in the heat of the moment, he knows what he has to do. he knows that this clock is what they have to deal with, so he focuses on that.

as the storage room fades away, nic lands a few lastblows on the old wood. it's falling apart on the floor as nic takes a step back, looking around at their changing surroundings. ]

What was that?

[ it's not over yet, but he wants to know what the hell that was and how he can keep it from happening again. ]

[He too backs away as the grandfather clock shatters and the storage room fades away with the stranger, bringing them back to the abandoned shop.

Tieria is just as confused as Nic and Korra is but even so, he remains as calm as he can. Even if what happened completely defies logic, he's not going to allow it to endangers them any longer.]

We need to get out of here and report back to Olivia. Nic, secure the door.

[With that, he hurries over to Korra to help her.]

Come on. Be careful, don't step on any bottles or potions.

[He remembers Olivia's warning about them.]

I got it, I got it...

[Exhausted as she is, Korra lets her pride get in the way of letting Tieria help her again. She is careful with her steps, though, avoiding the old bottles that litter the ground like he suggests.

They may have won (or something...), but it doesn't feel like a victory. Korra's exhausted; her knees are weak underneath her as she makes her way toward the door. What was Amon doing there? Could it have possibly been some kind of magic? Is there something so strong that it could create an illusion of that much magnitude? Because even if he were here, he wouldn't be able to bloodbend!

She hates the way he makes her feel. The way he terrifies her, reminds her of her own powerlessness.

Letting out a frustrated growl, Korra kicks one of the scrolls littering the floor on her way by.]

[ nic lets them go in front of him. the floor is cluttered with mess, and he has to step carefully to avoid breaking anything else. as directed, he shuts the door behind them after giving the catastrophe they're leaving behind one last look.

he's ready to leave. as far as he concerned, someone who can talk more effectively than he does can make the report. ]
