[ upon their release from the castle, there is a proceeding crush of bodies towards the exit, the fresh air and, spirits bless, the sun. (going through a little withdrawal there, mako?) mako lets the current of humanity push him the direction he wants to go, korra's hand tight in his, head tilted up to catch the first glimpse of sky he can when he spots a familiar mass of curls, a jade pin glinting in the new found light. he calls out, without thought, ignoring the sinking feeling in his stomach. ]

Asami!

[At this point Asami isn't much less disoriented and it makes it that much harder to stifle her nausea, so she's happy for the fresh air, even if it means ushering into it with other eager bodies like cattle. Just a nice, quiet, spacious place will do and...

Was that her name? She perks up to the familiar voice and turns her neck though her legs keep walking forward. And what a blessing it is that Mako is tall, because she can spot him, and then her weight battles whomever is walking behind her as she urges her way towards him. The relief temporarily washes away the sick feeling.]

Mako! Excuse me— sorry— pardon me—

[The apologies persist until she reaches him, them when Korra comes into view. She smiles with a bit lip, despite their hands she can't ignore but aren't really all that important in light of things.]

Spirits, I'm so happy I found you two. Are you guys alright?

[rebonding]

Asami!

[Korra doesn't see her until she's drawn closer. Unlike her freakishly tall friends, she can't see a thing around this giant crowd. The sooner they find somewhere quieter, the better. She slips her hand out of Mako's to slap him playfully on the back as she speaks.]

We're okay!... For the most part!

[Because bending WHY is their bending gone?!]

[ someone bumps mako, and he reaches out to take korra's hand again, and then asami's — the wrist seems rude and informal, but his grip is only barely strong enough to keep her from slipping her fingers out of his by accident — and starts to tug the girls in the direction of the side of the doorway, using his taller height to make headway against the crowd easily.

outside, as the rest of the imports begin to disperse and gawk at their surroundings, mako drops asami's hand and focuses on her, ]

Have you seen Bolin?

[Asami's mouth was open to speak. Probably something like, I thought I was going crazy, but Mako pulls them both aside like he has an agenda. No relieving reunion-talk here.

She clutches her hand close to her chest when Mako drops it.]

No, you guys are the only people I know here. Should we go look for him?

[rebonding]

[Korra willingly follows the others away from the crowd, clutching Mako's hand.]

I guess we can. I talked to some lady earlier, and she said that she didn't have anyone else here that she knew. So why us?

[Team Avatar had never been an official official thing. Sure, it'd been what they'd called themselves during the days of Tarrlok's stupid task force, but little else. Why would they be thrown here now?]

[ he doesn't give a shit why they're here. mako's main priority right now is his brother; so much for the story about the guilds and the town, and whatever the hell else everyone is focusing on — if he's here, and korra and asami are here — where's bolin? there weren't enough people in the castle for him to miss him... but they'd somehow missed asami during the day so it's not impossible. does that mean he's... not here? which would mean he's still at the south pole... it's not that he doesn't trust sifu tenzin, or korra's parents, or lin but, they're busy adults, and bolin's old enough to be overlooked with assumptions that he can take care of himself, especially with korra missing. she's probably their first priority. so without mako there, that means there's nobody looking out for bolin.

mako doesn't say as much, but his expression is probably more than readable to the girls: brows knit together in worry as he scans the dispersing crowd more, teeth pulling at the already ragged skin on his lip, one hand thoughtlessly coming up to tug at his scarf. ]

If we hadn't spotted you [ he means asami whoops ] I'd say, no but —

[ lksefjfe weh no bending no bolin everything about this sucks ]

[Korra's question is a valid one. The wheels turn in her head until Mako speaks, and his worry is understandable. Bolin is his only family. Besides that, she thinks of him with a heavy heart as well; he's a friend, arguably a good one. There's just something about taking on a crazy father together that forms a good little bond there.

Up until now, she'd been alone, and that was scary enough. She'd hate for Bolin to be wandering on his own without a clue in the world that his friends and brother are here.

She folds her arms and rests a weight on one leg.]

It's okay, we'll look for him. I wouldn't have thought to look if I hadn't found you guys, either.

[She sighs. Everything with the Equalists is over. She can see why someone shady might want their hands on Korra, and perhaps Mako for his affiliation and remarkable achievement. She's relatively disassociated. It wouldn't make sense to kidnap her without Bolin.]

Maybe we could split up and regroup.

[rebonding]

If we're all here, it'd make sense for him to be here. I'm sure we'll find him.

[She offers Mako a small, hopefully reassuring smile and turns to Asami.]

We just have to make sure we don't get lost in the process.

[Correction, Korra has to make sure Korra doesn't get lost.]

And if he's not here, then... [a shrug] I'm sure he's with Tenzin and Lin looking for us.

[ his vote already cast, he lets the two of them discuss it as he continues to look. at korra's lost, comment, though — yep, by the looks of it, mako already has a solution in mind. ]

Look how tall this thing is — [ he gestures to the castle, towering overhead ] If we're not allowed out of town, we're gonna be able to see it from... [ judging by how short these buildings all appear to be? ] pretty much anywhere. If you get lost, just come back here and we'll regroup.
