OPEN: mission - protect the pageant cutie
Who: Iceland, Latvia, and you!
What: Turning away suitors so Juliet Cassecoeur can be cute in peace
When: Throughout the month
Where: Juliet's place of residence
Rating: PG. Let me know if that changes.
A.
While not the most intimidating person, Iceland figured keeping this lovely lady safe from suitors shouldn't be too hard-- he's argumentative enough, right? So it should be fine if he just snips at the other men and tell them to leave, right? Unfortunately some are more aggressive or insistant on seeing or talking to Juliet, and if Iceland's horrid temper doesn't drive them away, what will? He's not about to give up though. He really, really wants that money.
So what now: Do you help him shoo away some suitors? Perhaps you're a suitor? Maybe a curious bystander or a heckler. Either way, be careful of Iceland's eruptive mood swings...
B.
It really wasn't the most suitable mission for him, but then again pretty much none of them were. Latvia especially didn't have much going for him in the way of intimidation but he still took a dominant stance, scowling at anyone who looked like they might be causing trouble (although no matter how hard he tried he always looked more anxious than angry).
A job was a job though, if he was getting payed he might as well do his best. To anyone approaching he held out his palm and signaled for them to stop.
"Halt! State your business." It sounded very out of place coming from someone so short, even more so from the fact that Latvia was forcing himself to act as in control over the situation as possible. You could probably easily kick him out of the way.

→ Pre-mission
It was better working with strangers though, and he figured they'd be able to accomplish more together than separately. Admittedly, he'd mainly taken Juliet's request at the promise of weaponry. While he prefered to avoid conflict he'd heard so many rumors about monsters he didn't want to take his chances.
Then again, maybe this wasn't such a good idea. He keeps reading the request again and again as he sat on the edge of his bed.
"I'm sorry, I think I was a bit eager. Maybe we should have just settled for opening pickle jars..."
Re: → Pre-mission
To be fair, technically anyone could do this mission, too - but Iceland thought it was more noble or honorable or something along those lines. So if anyone asked, he'd be less embarrassed to say 'protected a girl' as opposed to 'opened pickle jars.' Yeesh! He didn't even mind working with Latvia, because hey, working together would mean more would get done. In theory.
The reality of their situation still hadn't really hit Iceland, since he didn't get around to exploring much. The library was a much more inviting place for him, so aside from the few times he went out to run errands (that is, familiarize himself with the area, find a communication... thing...), he's been reading. This is going to be his first real big day out, so he doesn't know what to expect.

"I suppose..." he sighed. It was a bit late anyway, what kind of impression would they give if them backed out now? The people here seemed wary enough of them as it is. "Maybe if we just guarded her house and told people she was away it might not be so bad." But isn't that behavior a little suspicious too?

Besides, if they were ignored, surely that sort of behavior could be reprimanded by proper authorities. The more Iceland thinks on it, the more he thinks this is easy money. Telling people to go away? He does that already for free!

"Exactly, and if they try to get in then... I'm sure breaking and entering must be illegal here too," he replied. Latvia made a mental note to check up on laws and social etiquette later. Even if this world had a similar feel to some of the places back home who's to say the culture would be the same too?
"How do you think we should go about it?" he finally asked "Should we stand guard together or take shifts?" Latvia wasn't sure why he felt inclined to ask that, he would much prefer to do it together. Maybe he thought Iceland was used to being solitary.

Then again, having back up...
"You can stand on one side of the door, and I can stand on the other." Like fancy guards, yeah! That should be fine, right? Having both sides covered.

"It would definitely look like we were guarding if we did that. No one would question why we were there." Of course there might be one or two punks who would try to come up and heckle them but he tried not to think about them right now. He got up, feeling a lot more confident now that they were actually talking about it.
"I'm glad you agreed to do this with me. There's no way I'd be able to do it alone," Latvia confessed.
