[ Before the mission, at Platmoor's side entrance...
It is Nuri's first ever mission in Goldvale. Days has passed since the great battle at PangYa Island, but the lingering sensation of that fight still lingers throughout his hands. It's making him a little numb, admittedly nervous, although he is doing his best not to let it affect him. Prior to living in PangYa Island, all of his experiences in a fight were merely sparring in a dojang.
It's been a challenging ride in PangYa Island. But this world, Reis Alurelia, feels so much bigger. Nuri knows well that he can't be pampered anymore, with no one here to hold his hand or guide him at every step like what Pipin previously did for him. That's why he determinedly huffs to himself, attempting to put on a bolder expression. ]
I... I can do this! I'm sure that I can. I have to be strong, so I wouldn't worry Hana and the others even if I'm here...
[ Huff huff!! After the moment of self-encouragement, Nuri proceeds to take a big step towards the forest. ... Not really for long, though. He collects air within his round cheeks, and turns around afterwards. It's then that he starts rummaging through his tiny backpack after swiftly taking it off. ]
Oh!! I have to make sure that I'm ready first.
[ ossidia's request, closed. @various. but primarily castle dyspros, nickelhollow, and platmoor. ]
[ Speaking of first missions, here is another. Again, it's Nuri's first time to be teamed up with others neither from his homeland nor PangYa Island. Looking much like a student excited for a field trip, Nuri keeps beaming at his two assigned teammates.
At the moment, they're right outside of Castle Dyspros, preparing before they once again enter. ]
Ehehe. Isn't this exciting? [ ♪ ] The previous mission was hard by myself, but I'm sure that it'll be better this time!

No flashlight.
[In other words, deal with it.]
Maybe if you feel around, you'll find something furry. If it's squeaking and moving, leave it alone. If it's not, then you can just push it my way.
[Oh, he should have given the kid gloves first. That's what Nuri gets for charging in so recklessly.]
no subject
I, I don't want to touch that without protection!
no subject
[Did you forget that little bit?
Well, he didn't want Nuri to get sick before the kid managed to grab anything.]
Lucky for you, I received a pair of gloves from a previous mission.
[Reaching into his pocket, he holds out the brand new leather gloves for the boy to take.]
I expect them back... once you washed and dried them, of course.
no subject
[A light puff of his cheeks. Hey, it totally means "to break your back," or to work hard, right?! ... Someone certainly has a long way to go. But at least he's pretty enthusiastic about his tasks.
Nuri gratefully accepts the pair of gloves, then equips them to keep his hands safe. He meekly smiles at Gareki, feeling happy that the other boy didn't mind lending his reward.]
Don't worry, I'll be sure to take care of them.
[After a moment of encouragement, Nuri manages to calm down again and return into the dark space.]
no subject
[Gareki rolls his eyes a little as he watches the boy crawl back.]
Remember, we need to find three. So do your best, even if its a little dark!
["A little" is a bit of a understatement though. Whoops.]
no subject
[That new nickname was blurted out of impulsive frustration. Gareki should've recalled how much Nuri was clearly disturbed, to the point that Yogi had to send him away from there for now. It'll take time before he can do things like that with less disgust.
As if to attempt getting out of his mind, Nuri starts patting the floor in a hurried manner. This may just be looking around, but it's difficult when you can barely see anything. He has to pat walls too, to see if it goes any further.]
Ugh, it really stinks in here...
[To be expected, really, when you're dealing with dead mice especially.]
no subject
[And don't think he won't go through with that threat! Seriously, if the kid couldn't handle these kinds of things, why does he even bother taking on these kinds of missions? Gareki knew for a fact that there were easier jobs available.]
What do you expect? Hold your breath or something. There's nothing I can do about the smell.
[Unless you want him to go out and pick some flowers to shove into the space.]
no subject
No, don't...! I mean, I know that! I just wanted to rant a little...
[It's kind of hard to keep a straight face while patting around for rotting corpses for instance, especially for one unused to such disgusting tasks.
Speaking of corpses, here's one now. After Nuri is sure that he touched a ball of soft fur, he doesn't think anymore and just pulls it out of the hole. He doesn't throw it forcefully, but only tosses it enough to send it out towards the light. How many mice is he supposed to get again?]
no subject
[Well, even Gareki is disgusted by this job, so he couldn't really berate the kid anymore on that account. He should find something to pick it up with since he gave his gloves away to Nuri.]
That's one down. Two more, kid.
[Meanwhile, Gareki is going to find a stick to pick it up with. If Nuri suddenly finds that things have gotten a little too quiet on Gareki's end, it's because he went off somewhere. And promptly left Nuri by himself in some dark hole full of live and dead rodents.]
1 / 2
[The scent gets worse as he gets further in. Nuri shuffles his scarf up using his shoulders, so it would cover his nose. He keeps at it, hoping to finish this task quickly already...!]
Gareki, can you keep talking...? It helps me tolerate this...
no subject
—Gareki?
[...THIS ISN'T FUNNY, GAREKI. DON'T LEAVE HIM IN A QUESTIONABLE HOLE BY HIMSELF.]
no subject
But now Gareki can pick up the dead rat without having to contaminate his hands! That's all that really mattered! Oh wait... there's Nuri too.]
Did you find the other two yet?
[Results, man. Give him good results.]
no subject
Around eight minutes earlier, a couple of rats jumped on him, causing him to scream and exit the hole. Still with luck on his side thankfully, none of them actually landed directly as he left quick enough to dodge. Though now, the angry rats are surrounding the entrance of the hole, preventing Nuri from ever entering again. It looks like they're mad about the intrusion.]
No, no, no! I'm sorry!
[DEAR REIS ALURELIA GOD. ... Oh, Gareki is fine, too. Nuri will just proceed to cling unto him now. Just be thankful he's not using his dirty hands to do so... Merely leaning his head against Gareki himself.
The good news is that he did manage to find a couple more before the mice attacked. There's more than the required rat corpses on the floor now.]
no subject
You smell.
[Ah, too bad about the rats though. But at least Nuri managed to do his job.]
I think we have to cut them off our selves. They might be easier to carry around that way after we stuff them into a bag.
[In the meantime, he's going to pull away from Nuri and try to push the rats together with the sticks that he brought. Manly sticks. Not cute sticks.]
no subject
[That was such a helpless sound. Really, whose fault is it that Nuri ended up like this! But it looks like someone needs a break, so Nuri just lets his knees give in. He'll wait for Gareki to take care of the rest, while he uses the chance to recollect himself again.
Nope, not facing those rats. Even though they're already dead, it's still gross to see limbs being cut off. The good part is, at least the rest of those ugly rats have already returned to their nest.]
no subject
[Once they've been pushed together, Gareki pulls his dagger out of his pocket to get the dirtier work done. While doing so, the paper listing all of the items that they needed accidentally slips out of his pocket too. Without noticing that something important is gone, the older boy gets to work at removing the tails from the corpses.]
1 / 2
Though, he does perk up after noticing that their errand list fell out of Gareki's pocket. He allows the gloves to slide off his hands first before he takes it, reading to check what horror could be next.]
no subject
Hey, Gareki. What guild did you say you were?
no subject
I'm part of the thief's guild. Why?
no subject
Um! Can I have one of your hair strands?!
[And that awfully blunt request.]
no subject
No!
[Gareki immediately jumps to his feet and backs away from the other boy. He's even pointing the dagger at the kid in a threatening way. Stay away from his hair!!]
no subject
[Nevermind that Yogi isn't here yet, Nuri believes in him! Nuri personally witnessed how strong the young blonde is, after all. Surely he'll be here soon. ... Anyway, it's the last item!!]
I'll be gentle, so you don't have to be scared... It won't hurt at all.
no subject
[Gareki is yelling in high volumes now as he's waving the dagger in the air. Just wanting to make sure Nuri knows that he still has a weapon out in his hands.]
You're not touching my hair!
no subject
[Will cute charms work? Not that Nuri is doing it intentionally, he's absolutely oblivious to his own facial expressions. But maybe that just makes it more annoying to anyone.
He'll step just a bit closer, looking up at Gareki with those big eyes... He's practically using his admiration look, because deep in him, he wants to believe that Gareki wants to help out.]
no subject
[His resolve is starting to break a little. But Gareki is trying to stand firm. If they are going to rip the hair out of a thief, it's definitely not him!]
