[ Before the mission, at Platmoor's side entrance...

It is Nuri's first ever mission in Goldvale. Days has passed since the great battle at PangYa Island, but the lingering sensation of that fight still lingers throughout his hands. It's making him a little numb, admittedly nervous, although he is doing his best not to let it affect him. Prior to living in PangYa Island, all of his experiences in a fight were merely sparring in a dojang.

It's been a challenging ride in PangYa Island. But this world, Reis Alurelia, feels so much bigger. Nuri knows well that he can't be pampered anymore, with no one here to hold his hand or guide him at every step like what Pipin previously did for him. That's why he determinedly huffs to himself, attempting to put on a bolder expression. ]

I... I can do this! I'm sure that I can. I have to be strong, so I wouldn't worry Hana and the others even if I'm here...

[ Huff huff!! After the moment of self-encouragement, Nuri proceeds to take a big step towards the forest. ... Not really for long, though. He collects air within his round cheeks, and turns around afterwards. It's then that he starts rummaging through his tiny backpack after swiftly taking it off. ]

Oh!! I have to make sure that I'm ready first.

[ ossidia's request, closed. @various. but primarily castle dyspros, nickelhollow, and platmoor. ]

[ Speaking of first missions, here is another. Again, it's Nuri's first time to be teamed up with others neither from his homeland nor PangYa Island. Looking much like a student excited for a field trip, Nuri keeps beaming at his two assigned teammates.

At the moment, they're right outside of Castle Dyspros, preparing before they once again enter. ]

Ehehe. Isn't this exciting? [ ♪ ] The previous mission was hard by myself, but I'm sure that it'll be better this time!

That woman didn't say what it looked like. She only mentioned that they would be in the castle.

[Location isn't a bad start, but they needed to know what they were hunting. Luckily, Gareki isn't dumb enough to charge into anything without doing a little bit of research.]

But what we looking for are eyes. I happened to look it up before coming here. It's a blob-like creature with multiple eyes. Killing just one should be more than enough... Unless of course you end up beating it into a pulp with nothing good to take.

[ Wow Yogi did his homework... sorta. At least he has teammates to help him!

So as the male listened intently to both sides, he nods occasionally before tightening both hands into a fist. ]

Fighting one shouldn't be too hard... alright then! The sooner we get done, the sooner we complete the mission! Let's goo-!!

[ The blond takes a noticeable step forward, beckoning the two to follow. Of course he was a little scared about the monster they were going to fight, he had to be brave in front of everyone! He could do it!! ]

[ Nuri merely laughs as Yogi enthusiastically leads the way. Maybe a little drop of sweat, too. How can anyone be so happy about killing a possibly-disgusting creature? Multiple eyes... ]


[ . . . After a scenario change, the three eventually decided to separate in order to get their task quicker! This is more efficient, after all. So while Yogi went off to get the Schmoeilz eyes with Nuri, Gareki went on ahead to locate the Fesaure ahead of them. ]

[ 11:30 AM, yogi's side. ]

Have you seen the Schmoeilz yet, Yogi?

[ At the moment, Nuri is carefully trotting after Yogi. He has a strong grip on his sword mace, prepared for anything that could potentially jump at them. He knows that this is a dangerous mission, which is a good thing that he's decided to go with someone to get this done more safely. ]

[ 1:10 PM, gareki's side. ]

[ So. After killing that one Schmoeilz, Nuri decided that he's had enough of cutting monster limbs. It was a little too overwhelming for him after all, so Yogi decided to send him to Gareki's side instead while he goes after that last Fesaure.

Even though Nuri wanted to stay to help Yogi more, the older male persisted. And as a result, Nuri's safely making his way downtown, trying to locate Gareki again... Who this time was assigned to scout ahead to look for rats around the streets. ]

Um... [ His words cut off slowly as the blond looks around. He's been attentive, of course, but with no sign of it nearby Yogi can't start to help but worry. Still, he knows he has someone to protect and with the mission on the line, he can't afford to mess up now. ]

... It should be around here soon! The area where the monster is located is close. [ Still looking around, he makes a brief stop to Nuri, smiling all the while. ] Then we can meet up with Gareki-kun! I hope he's doing okay, too...

Gareki is strong... We might even lose to him if we don't hurry up!

[Despite nervousness, Nuri still chooses to be encouraging. He has full faith on Gareki, that's why he allowed him to go by himself for certain parts of their mission plan.]

... You're used to fighting, right? I heard from Gareki that you two see monsters all the time in your world.

[mascots]

Ah, you're right! [ Sure, he believed in Gareki, but he still couldn't help but worry. And Nuri did have a point, this mission was like a game in a way! ] We can't let Gareki-kun win!

[ With a new branch of enthusiasm, Yogi picks up his speed towards the center of the area. It should be any moment now... ]

Huh? Oh... yes! Part of my job back home is to get rid of all the scary monsters that try to hurt people. I still get scared sometimes, but I do my best! [ Another flick of his gaze to the boy. ] ... And you can do it too! So don't be afraid to ask for help.

Wow... That sounds like a tough job. Is Gareki like that, too?

[With Yogi praising him like that, that nervousness is starting to fade. Which really is good timing.]

[softie]

[... Because within the next set of seconds, Nuri quickly spots the offending monster that they've been looking for. His eyes widen out of surprise, but picks himself up and gathers strength to point at it.]

Th, there! That's the one, isn't it!?

[mascots]

Gareki-kun is very brave, he- [ Ah... wait. What was going on?

Surprised himself, the blond finally turns to see the monster at such a close distance. After a short yelp he braces himself, unconsciously moving closer to Nuri's side. ]

Th... that has to be it! It can't be too hard, right?

[ His own weapon is drawn as he quickly assist the situation. There's only one, and his size wasn't too imitating compared to most of the things Yogi has fought in the past. Well, they did just start this game, so the monsters shouldn't be too hard, right!?

HE'S GOT THIS. ]

Alright, Nuri-chan! Let's show this monster what we got! Are you ready?

Yes... Don't worry about me, just do what you usually do!

[The last thing that Nuri wants is to have Yogi slow down because of him. He took this job, he'll prove that he's capable of doing this as well. He slipped a little last time, but getting stronger isn't overnight, after all.

He'll keep fighting on, and that starts again this moment. He'll let Yogi have the first strike, as he'll surely get a better idea of how to approach this monster after observing a skilled fighter do so.]

[ With the limitations placed on his body since arriving in this world, it's almost as if this was a completely new start. His body almost felt heavier now, and with only one weapon to accompany him, it was back down to square one. Still, he still had all the knowledge he learned and the experience of being apart of Circus- that was one thing he could never lose.

And so bracing himself for a moment, Yogi locked on to his target with focus and threw himself forward. Extending his sword with almost perfect accuracy before striking the monster at its side.

There, an actual hit! The strike was well received with a scream from the many eyed monster- this shouldn't be too hard. ]

There! Try to attack while it's still stunned!

I've got it!

[Those are such good moves... While normally Nuri would start admiring someone for their good sides, this moment is crucial. He takes the time to sharply observe it, but he doesn't have the time to process it in one go.

For now, he'll stick to the moves that he's more familiar with. Fighting with a long rod isn't something new, because he's wielded different clubs before. Back home, they all had spiritual fighting by putting all they can into their swings. It's just that literally fighting — harming, a living being is something that he's yet to get used to...

It'll be fine. He tells himself that, and then sprints forward with a powerful movement. He isn't completely clueless. Aside from club techniques, he knows and fully recalls the martial arts that he's been taught in his original world. Before the monster recovers, another stunning impact follows up. The connected blow is strong enough to send the monster a couple of steps back, but it's not over yet.]

Ugh—

[The monster is angered, so out of frustration, it starts casting a spell. A magic circle is witnessed, so Nuri quickly backsteps as well.]

[ Alright, that was a great shot! Yogi congratulates the younger boy with a quick nod of satisfaction, but attention returns to the battlefield. He could see the magic circle appear, and follows Nuri's movements to retreat for the moment.

In a particular instance like this, one could either wait for the attack and hope to avoid it, or attack before the magic is finished. And unlike most of the things he has fought before, Yogi knows that no two battles are the same. He couldn't calculate what sort of attack it was going to use, but considering the lack of experience he was feeling at the moment, he wasn't quite sure if he could trust his sudden decrease in agility.

It was with that hesitation and thinking too much that the monster had already charged its attack. It threw the magical force forward, spreading its attack to several areas of the fighting range. ]

Whoa... uwah!! [ Luckily, Yogi was able to return to his right state of mind in order to avoid the attack. But Nuri...! ]

Watch out!

E-Eh...

[Nuri didn't want to start panicking. And he wouldn't. Though, that doesn't stop him from being a little disoriented. As he isn't experienced with fast battles, he has to force himself to adapt, especially for critical moments. This is one of them now...

There's no time to spare, so Nuri just does what he can. Out of pure reflex, he backflips several times. The movements spring in a chain, luckily ending him in a more favorable position, but one particular shot almost hit him. The force that shot the ground at his feet after landing is enough to topple him down. He ends up sitting on the floor, staring at the blob that decided to chase after him first... Probably because he's the smaller one, and seems easier to devour.]

[Gareki has seen a lot of live rats scurrying about in Nicklehollow. Somehow, it was easier to kill monsters back in the castle... an animal that he's familiar with? Not so much. There's bound to be a couple of dead ones he can just pick up, right?

Not to mention, there was another problematic item on the list that he has yet to talk with the rest of the group about. He'll have to find some way to get that strand of hair later. Except it's a tough thing to do when he sees a familiar brat running over towards him.]

What are you doing over here? Aren't you suppose to be helping Yogi out?

[When Gareki is spotted, Nuri quickly makes his way. As he stops beside the other boy, he lets out a couple of pants since he's ran a long way to find Gareki.]

Yes... I was. But Yogi said to go... I did want to stay, but he kept insisting.

[It doesn't really take much of a guess of why Yogi would bother to send him away. They meant to cut off limbs, but there's no sign of blood on Nuri's clothes. Instead of that, his body is laced with a gentle trembling motion. It looks like he's doing his best to calm himself right now...

Someone here isn't used to actual fighting. Not that it wasn't obvious from the beginning, there's a reason why Nuri wisely asked these two for help instead of recklessly attempting everything alone.]

Yogi went to the Fesaure by himself, and he said that I should check on you.

[tsunderekun]

[Gareki is looking forward to babysitting the kid, but it was probably better for Nuri in the long run. Still, the older boy didn't try to hide that look of annoyance.]

Whatever...

[But it's not like this job is any better. There were some tight spaces that Gareki couldn't fit into, and he's sure there maybe a couple of dead ones in there. It's kind of mean to ask Nuri to do this, but he's the only one out of the two that can fit into small spaces.]

Hey, can you crawl through here and see if you can find any rats? We need a couple of tails, and I don't want to kill any of them.

... Eh, in there?

[Wow, that space looks tight and horrible. It most likely reeks, too. But Gareki is finally relying on him! Nuri lowers his head a little, but eventually gives a strong nod. He won't falter if there's anything that he can do.]

Okay! I'll do my best.

[softie]

[Ducking, Nuri shortly crawls into the tiny hole without any problems so far.

Though within a couple of seconds, when he's fully in, that's where his first complaint comes.]

—It's dark, Gareki...

[tsunderekun]

[Oh hey! The kid fits after all! That's super handy.]

No flashlight.

[In other words, deal with it.]

Maybe if you feel around, you'll find something furry. If it's squeaking and moving, leave it alone. If it's not, then you can just push it my way.

[Oh, he should have given the kid gloves first. That's what Nuri gets for charging in so recklessly.]

[There's hesitation at this point. He's going to be blindly patting this questionable floor? What if he... touches RAT WASTE!? The thought immediately causes his face to turn white, so he quickly crawls out and tugs unto Gareki.]

I, I don't want to touch that without protection!

[tsunderekun]

Isn't that your fault for rushing in without preparing first? I told you that you had to get your hands dirty in order to succeed in this mission.

[Did you forget that little bit?

Well, he didn't want Nuri to get sick before the kid managed to grab anything.]

Lucky for you, I received a pair of gloves from a previous mission.

[Reaching into his pocket, he holds out the brand new leather gloves for the boy to take.]

I expect them back... once you washed and dried them, of course.

I didn't think you'd mean it literally...

[A light puff of his cheeks. Hey, it totally means "to break your back," or to work hard, right?! ... Someone certainly has a long way to go. But at least he's pretty enthusiastic about his tasks.

Nuri gratefully accepts the pair of gloves, then equips them to keep his hands safe. He meekly smiles at Gareki, feeling happy that the other boy didn't mind lending his reward.]

Don't worry, I'll be sure to take care of them.

[After a moment of encouragement, Nuri manages to calm down again and return into the dark space.]

Gouging the eyes out of a slime monster wasn't dirty enough for you?

[Gareki rolls his eyes a little as he watches the boy crawl back.]

Remember, we need to find three. So do your best, even if its a little dark!

["A little" is a bit of a understatement though. Whoops.]

Don't remind me, Gareidiot!!

[That new nickname was blurted out of impulsive frustration. Gareki should've recalled how much Nuri was clearly disturbed, to the point that Yogi had to send him away from there for now. It'll take time before he can do things like that with less disgust.

As if to attempt getting out of his mind, Nuri starts patting the floor in a hurried manner. This may just be looking around, but it's difficult when you can barely see anything. He has to pat walls too, to see if it goes any further.]

Ugh, it really stinks in here...

[To be expected, really, when you're dealing with dead mice especially.]
