[Open to Fighters] Settling In!
Who: Anyone in the Fighter's Guild!
What: Settling into their posh new home!
When: The first week or so?
Where: The super-lavish Fighter's Guild Bunk Rooms!
Rating: PG-13 for various rough language and behavior, maybe?
((OOC: Feel free to tag around and tag each other, I just figured since I was putting one up for Mikado to meet his bunkmate, I'd make it open to anyone living here.))
The housing in the Fighter's Guild isn't exactly the most extravagant. In fact, there's pretty much nothing but the bunks in the rooms, and bathroom facilities are shared. There are eight bunks to a room, so it's definitely going to be a busy place.
A very small-feeling Ryuugamine Mikado is standing in the middle of the room, looking like he's lost, holding onto the strap of his school bag a little too tightly. He's managed to talk his way into the fighter's guild in the first place out of sheer stubbornness, but actually fitting in here is another matter. It doesn't help any that he's already banged up and wearing several bandages around his person, ones he needs to redo soon since they're been in place since before arriving in this world.

this is her first time actually coming into the fighter's guild, and just like mikado, she definitely stands out-- a tall, voluptuous woman dripping with jewelry isn't something automatically associated with fighting, but the gruff way she leans against the doorway and frowns as she gives the room a once-over might suggest she's more than just a pretty face.
"they can't be serious."
these rooms are f u g l y, how do they expect any of the girls, let alone iva, to stay here? they gave criminals back in the country better rooms than this--!
she doesn't spend too much of her time bemoaning the bareness of their furnishings, because it's hard to ignore the unfortunate-looking mikado for long.
he looks pretty young, about gareki's age, but somehow seems a lot more gentle and innocent than he does. plus, he looks like he's gotten jacked up a bit before coming here, so it's hard for iva to not approach him gently.
"are you okay?"
maybe some jerk beat him up... just the thought makes iva's blood boil!!

He turns to blink at her, a little embarrassed at being startled. He really needs to learn to pay more attention, in a place like this. He was just starting to get used to Ikebukuro, really, and now he's in a new place again and it's hard to wrap his head around it.
This is quite a bit further from where he was born than Tokyo, of course.
"I'm all right! I was in a bit of a scrape before I came here, but I'll be fine as long as I can keep the injuries clean."
He doesn't look worried at all.
"You're disappointed in the accommodations, it sounds like?"
no subject
"we should get these changed, you know," she states factually before straightening and looking around for any obvious signs of where the bathroom might be.
"but you're right, i'm not really excited about staying in a place like this," she adds before turning towards him a cheeky smile. "us women need a lot more than just a simple bed."
no subject
"I can't imagine any woman I know living in a place like this either," he admits, not that he really knows a lot of women all that well. "I think even my apartment at home was nicer than this."
no subject
she smiles at mikado's words though; no, she can't imagine he knows too many women, though the boy is still fascinating in his own right. "it was kind of a joke, but it sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders."
a pause.
"do you live alone? in your apartment."
this kid looked way too young for that, but she thinks of gareki and nai and the other displaced children thanks to kafka, so it isn't terribly unbelievable that other worlds and other people would have similar problems.

open!
Whoever's in the immediate area is going to get a resounding slap on the back. Maybe this is his new roommate? He's supposed to be sharing the place, or so he'd heard.
"Yo! Nice place, huh?"
Is it really nice, or is he just the kind of guy who'd call a dump like this home?
Re: open!
Mikado doesn't really think that even he could call it nice. He's used to living in relative simplicity; his apartment back in Ikebukuro is tiny, after all. But even he isn't prepared for this kind of starkness.
All the same, he'll smile. After all, it's better than being on the street, and complaining doesn't do anyone any good in situations like these.
Even though he's nearly fallen over from that slap on the back.
"At least we should be too busy getting to know each other to get homesick?" he offers tentatively.

Ali raises an eyebrow at his suggestion.
"That's why you joined up? To make some friends? Oh, boy."
And on that note, he adds, "Are you really a fighter?"
no subject
"I know a lot of people aren't going to think much of me, but if I'm going to beat up, I'd rather do it trying to fight back than lying on the ground crying."
Not that he had exactly laid down and cried, but he had certainly cried afterward. And then moved to change the situation. But neither of the gangs were here to help him, so all he could do was make himself stronger.

Her green uniform is left on the countertop while she fiddles with the faucet. It's either too hot or too cold or feels like she's getting blasted in the face. "Stupid primitive... I hate it," she grumbles. Not very relaxing at all. Not very private either. She decides to check one of the other showers to see if it's any better.
no subject
...If only to make it that much more surprising when he reaches a hand up to rattle the shower door loudly. Sorry whoever you are, he's just trying to have a fun time.
"How's the water?!"
no subject
"Just like the rest of this crappy place." So this is who she has to work with.
no subject
"Cold, huh?" he shoots back. "I didn't know there were women in this guild. Hope you're not too high maintenance."

open.
now, he's doing sit-ups with his legs up on his bunk, dogtags clinking every time he moves. he seems a little short to be a soldier, but it's harder to tell when he's moving around. he doesn't seem to be interested in joining the people in the pub, either, but maybe you can convince him. he did seem pretty good at cards the last time he was out there, anyway. ]
Re: open.
He's never tried sit-ups that way, but he's not sure he can pull them off, either. But clearly this person is in better shape than he is.
And the dogtags catch his eye.
Mikado finds himself walking over, peering cautiously without coming close enough to get in the way.]
Excuse me?
no subject
on his way up, he spots the kid and his mouth moving, but he finishes another rep before even making a sign that he's noticed. he swings his legs off of the bed, sitting normally on the floor now, and looks up at the kid. ]
What do you want?
[ his gestures are pretty fast, agitated as he is, with so much excess energy and frustration to burn off, but they're easily recognizable as sign language. ]
no subject
[Mikado is a little frustrated by the signing, and he looks to be thinking too hard about it, before deciding he didn't quite catch it properly.]
Can you read lips? I can't sign very well, so you'd have to go slower maybe...

Open to all!
On the bottom bunk, Yuri lays, hands behind his head, relaxing. This was probably the only incentive he had in joining any guild--a bed to lay in.
Beats prison beds any day.]
Re: Open to all!
[The young man sitting on one of the bunks should probably not be bothering someone who is trying to relax, but he can't help but make an effort to make friends, really.
Besides, he's a little out of place still, and a little nervous.]
no subject
[He doesn't bother to give eye contact. Not that he's being intentionally rude, he's just a simple guy who doesn't see a reason to see eye to eye in all instances.]
no subject
[Mikado isn't really sure what to follow up with. He's quite for a moment, and then speaks again, still rather awkwardly.]
So you don't mind this world so much?

The fighter's guild is not Nowi's type of building, it could use a lot of livening up. Maybe she could become the unofficial decorator; change things up a bit!
In the middle of one of the rooms, she sees a badly wounded (and bandaged) young boy who looks like he needed a friend
Nowi walks up to him and pokes his shoulder. ]
Hi there! Are you also in the figher's guild?
no subject
I am! It's exciting, isn't it?
no subject
It's so exciting! I can't wait to run around and train...maybe we can even train together!
[ Nowi early waits from him to respond, this was her first fighter friend! But she realizes quickly that she didn't even give him her name! ]
Oh, my name is Nowi, what about you??
no subject
[He adds a little bow after the introduction.]
I would love to train with you. I'm not very good yet, but I'll get better!
